The state of California has proposed a new High Speed Rail Corridor between San Francisco and San Diego. This implementation of a new infrastructure will connect Bakersfield to two of the countries largest cities, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Currently the only means of transportation between Bakersfield and Los Angeles is a two and half hour bus ride. This new service will make the trip a forty five minutes train ride. With the ability to commute to or from Los Angeles this quickly, Bakersfield will grow into a predominant central California city for both residential and commercial growth. The station is not only for train transportation, but it is also includes a community center, a business center, a transportation center, and an information center
