Reinvention of the Waveland, Mississippi waterfront bringing the town out to the coast. Because of events of Hurricane Katrina an opportunity was created to reinvent the town of Waveland and in particular its water front. Using the FEMA flood guidelines, the new downtown is created upon on a new topography which allows the area to be protected from the damaging effects of the storm surge which accompanies any hurricanes coming to this area.
