This station included not only facilities to accommodate the needs of a large railroad station that services inbound and outbound trains and passengers from all points north of the city but also included the schematic design of a large hotel, commercial facilities, and parking. Because this station is located in a very rapidly growing segment of north Madrid, its design had to consider a variety of urban conditions impacting this area. In particular, students had to include as part of their design a proposal for the development of an urban park to the south of the station complex School of Architecture.
