This disposable attitude leaves buildings abandoned and valuable space vacant. There are a variety of problems that arise from this approach. It affects the amount of land that is developed for new buildings sites, instead of being left in its natural state. There is a strain put onto the use of construction materials in the new development and a waste from the materials disposed of. There are many infrastructural and industrial systems that have fallen victim to obsolescence, yet their structures retain architectural significance.
