This thesis looks at the topic of revitalizing war-torn cities through the ruin that wars create. Ruin gives rise to new spaces which people then generate new programs around. This thesis will take the idea of ruin and design to create catalytic nodes around the city to spur development through specific sites in the city of Shushi in the Autonomous region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The focus will be on implementing the university system that once encompassed the city of Shushi as the catalytic centers. The initial start up building will be realized as well as the phases of university growth
