All five were restored in 1878, but at some time between 1920 and 1965 the other four were destroyed, allegedly by rolling boulders onto them or with explosives. The ruins of the churchs of St. Astuacacin, St. Karapet and St. Stepanos Naxavkay are near the church of St Sargis, whose walls are rent with fissures but it's dome is still intact and the west wall is covered in intricate Armenian inscriptions, making it the equal of any single monument at Ani.
