Bright Morning Star Concert by Whitney Coleman "A new sound for Gospel" The concert was apart of Whitney's senior thesis project. The project also included an album which Whitney released on April 2, 2009 at EMPAC. The album, "Bright Morning Star", is a compilation of works that Whitney has written over the course of her 4 years at RPI. Whitney describes her album as a way for people to tap into the mind and emotion of situations that she has experienced and overcame over the past 4 years". Her overall message is to be able to reach people lyrically and musically by expressing her relationship with God and how that relationship has effected her life and changed her to be the person she is today. As for the concert, Whitney was able to to welcome all people of various cultures and religious backgrounds and was to allow the audience to experience and tap into who she is and what she so passionately believes in.
