The thesis is an exploration in finding appropriate physical solution to a situation where there are multiple and contradicting pressures. The process aims to analyze the pressures presented by different stakeholders and understand the implications of their physical and temporal demands. Based on the latter, a proposal was made that considers the outcome of these interacting pressures and the analysis of the present developments. The site is Congress Street in Troy, NY where a redevelopment project is in progress by the City of Troy in association with NY Department of Transportation (DOT). The area intersects major interests:Troy Residents, City of Troy, NY DOT, Troy Housing Authority and RPI. As a result, the design decisions affect and must result from the series of interacting demands, inherent of these stakeholders.
