The information compiled in this report was researched and compiled in 2008 by four Rensselaer students, and was officially released to the Rensselaer community in early 2009. It provides baseline information on the past and present state of sustainability at the Institute and describes sustainability efforts at other institutions as benchmarks. It examines research, education, operations, and culture as a framework for sustainability efforts, and makes suggestions for improvements in each of those areas. The report serves as a call to action to develop a more sustainable world, both within the Rensselaer community and beyond.
